A Tribute to a Watford Legend Kelly Smith

See the mural. Feel the pride.

On International Women’s Day, Harlequin proudly unveiled a permanent mural of Watford’s own football icon, Kelly Smith MBE.

Created in collaboration with renowned mural collective MurWalls, the striking artwork on our Upper Mall celebrates one of England’s greatest ever players and a true local hero.

Born and raised in Watford, Kelly began her journey at grassroots club Garston Boys before earning 117 England caps and scoring 47 international goals. From a historic quadruple-winning season with Arsenal to representing her country on the world stage, she has become a trailblazer for women’s football and an inspiration to generations.

Now, her legacy has a permanent home in the town where it all began.
